When your child is sick or hurt and the pediatrician’s office is closed or booked, urgent care can help with many common problems. Urgent Care Center of Westmont, also known as Immediate Care Center of Westmont, sees children and teens for illnesses like colds, coughs, sore throats, ear pain and the flu, and for minor injuries like sprains, small cuts and minor burns. Board-certified physicians lead our team.
Some problems need an emergency room instead. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) advises calling 911 if you believe your child is in danger, even if you are not sure what is wrong. The list below will help you decide.
For fever and sore throat, we offer rapid strep testing and flu testing for kids when it will guide care.
We talk with you and your child, check vital signs and do an exam. We explain each step to both of you. Depending on the problem, a provider may order a strep or flu test, lab work, or an X-ray at our main clinic on Cass Ave. You leave with a care plan and clear signs to watch for at home.
We share visit details with your child’s pediatrician when you ask, so your child’s regular doctor stays in the loop. We also offer school and sports physicals and immunizations.
The AAP says to call 911 right away if your child:
A baby younger than 3 months with a temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher needs medical care right away. Call your pediatrician or go to the nearest emergency room. Also seek urgent medical advice for a fever with a stiff neck, unusual drowsiness, trouble breathing or an unexplained rash. If your child swallowed a button battery or magnets, go to the emergency room at once.
Parents bring children to us from Westmont, IL and nearby communities, including Downers Grove, IL, Clarendon Hills, IL, Darien, IL, Willowbrook, IL and Hinsdale, IL.
You can walk in during open hours or check in online before you arrive. We are open weekdays 9 AM to 6 PM and weekends 9 AM to 5 PM at 29 N Cass Ave, Ste A, and inside Jewel-Osco at 4 E Ogden Ave, both in Westmont, IL 60559.
We accept most major insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, UnitedHealthcare and Medicare. Coverage for your child’s visit depends on your plan, so please call (630) 324-6825 to confirm before your visit. See the full list on our cost and insurance page.
No insurance? We offer flat, upfront self-pay urgent care pricing. Ask our front desk what your visit and any tests will cost before we start.
