Multiplan / PHCS is on our accepted list

Coverage depends on your specific plan. Bring your member ID card, or call us before you come and we will check it with you.

What MultiPlan and PHCS are

MultiPlan is described by its parent company as a nationwide complementary PPO network. PHCS is another network from the same family. Health plans use them to offer members more providers that agree to discounted rates. The company says it does not sell insurance, run benefit plans, or pay claims.

So you will not see MultiPlan or PHCS as the name of your insurer. You will see it as a logo or a line on a card from an employer plan, a union plan, or another health benefit.

How members recognize it on a card

The company's member page says a MultiPlan logo on your card most likely means your health plan uses the MultiPlan network. Look on the front or back of the card for a small logo that reads MultiPlan or PHCS.

  • Find the logo near the member ID or the plan name
  • Note the name of the insurer or plan administrator
  • Write down the group and member numbers
  • Keep the member services number printed on the card handy
The logo is a clue about the network, not a promise about what your plan pays.

A PPO is an insurance plan that works with doctors and hospitals to form a network. HealthCare.gov explains that you generally pay less when you use providers in the plan's network, and that going outside it usually costs more. Our job is to tell you whether your card fits our accepted list. Your plan's job is to say what it pays.
