After a needlestick or blood exposure

OSHA advises washing needlesticks and cuts with soap and water, flushing splashes to the nose, mouth or skin with water, and irrigating eyes with clean water. Then report the exposure to your employer and get medical attention right away. Evaluation for HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C exposure is time-sensitive, so do not wait.
